The Shrug Is Off

I just finished a design for a simple shrug, and I mailed it off to my mom in Spokane. Each season our shop features a new "Simply Grand" pattern, which is a simple pattern that is free with purchase of yarn for the project. We decided that for the spring we would do a basic shrug worked from cuff to cuff. I actually really like the way it turned out. There is a bunch of increasing after the cuff, so the back is big and drapey. The shape reminds me of a shrug Drew Barrymore wore in Music and Lyrics. Anyway, I was kind of reluctant to mail it off because I wanted to wear it. Alas. I'll just have to find time to make another one for myself.

Now I'm halfway up the back of a Rowan Cotton Glace striped sweater model from the new magazine. I'm loving it. Pictures will follow in later posts.
