Well, we are officially back in Washington. Andrew and I left last Thursday driving a huge Penske truck with our car towing behind. We managed to make it to Washington without ever having to back out, which was great. There is a surprising amount of room to spread out in the cab of a big Penske truck. Translation: I could have my knitting stuff all over the place. I completed the front and back of a Mission Falls 1824 Cotton striped sweater, and I love it. (I can't post a photo now because my camera cord is packed away in a box.) Andrew lamented at one of our truck stop breaks that there probably wasn't any knitting going on in any of the other big rig cabs (we were starting to develop a kinship, if only imagined, with the truckers). I said you never ever know. After all, we did see a big trucker guy with a tiny little Yorkie.
In any case, I will probably have to put the baby sweater on hold, since it is time to start working on class models for the fall season at A Grand Yarn. One of the best things about moving back to Washington, of course, is that it will be a lot easier for me to Spokane for classes or just for a visit. The plan is that I will travel over about once a month. In the meantime, we will be staying with west side family and friends while we are house hunting. One of my priorities, of course, is finding a house with good yarn storage potential. I mean, that amenity is way higher on the list than stainless steel appliances, I can tell you that.
