I guess I should say "The Source of My Greater Than Normal Flakiness Revealed." When I torment myself with questions like "Why aren't you finishing more knitting projects?" and "Why aren't all the boxes unpacked yet?" and "Why can't you get the stupid camera straightened out so you can post more knitting photos?", I have to remind myself of the obvious answer, which is that I'm pregnant. Due May 11. I couldn't be more excited. Or more tired. Or more nauseous.
One would like to think that even when battling pregnancy symptoms one could still maintain the same productivity levels, but it turns out it's a losing battle. Still, every day I convince myself that I have more energy, that I feel less sick, that I'll get much more accomplished. And then by afternoon I'm all washed up. I guess hope springs eternal (or maybe just delusions). The good news is that I'm not actually physically getting sick. The bad news is that the extreme nausea lasts all day. I'm constantly wishing that I would have some sort of craving because then I could at least eat that thing and feel good, but it's pretty much all about food aversions and just figuring out what's tolerable. The one exception is ice cream, which is appealing all the time, but you can't survive on ice cream alone.
As for knitting, my brain is not operating on all cylinders. For instance, last night at dinnertime I referred to the "college cheese." So I have to keep the knitting projects very simple. My Manos vest/shrug, which is simple for all intents and purposes, has a couple of missing yarn-overs quite a few rounds back, and it just makes me want to cry. I had to switch to a scarf. Oh, but I did finish the Simply Grand Ruffled Wrist Cozies pattern and sent one completed off to Spokane. I have a photo, but the camera/computer communication is still on the fritz. Anyway, Mom's going to send me some fun and simple models to work on for the shop, so that will be good. Okay, I've gone on and on. Obviously I have lots of material to write about now, so I'll keep up with both the pregnancy and the knitting updates.

Congratulations!
Motherhood is wonderful -- and it's so much fun to have a little one to knit for!
Wishing you an easy, wonderful pregnancy.
Kimberly
What great news! I'm so excited for you. And what a lucky baby! She will have a mother and grandmother knitting wonderful things for him. (Shouldn't you be knitting baby booties?)
Mary
(And you're wrong. You CAN live on ice cream alone, provided it's Tillamook.)
CONGRATS ingrid!!

(i made 1 for my new niece that only took 10 months!! ha --yes, i started it before she was even conceived!!)
