Fun Things and Dumplings

Today is my last day in Spokane, and I have had such a nice time. I finished up the Back to School Vest class yesterday morning, in which everyone was able to join the shoulders and try those babies on. Great fits all around! I also taught the beaded scarf class and had a blast. Unfortunately, everyone had to listen to me sniffling and coughing with this yucky little cold I caught a few days ago. The December class schedule went out via email yesterday. I love all the little December projects, and it looks like we're already getting quite a few sign-ups. Of course, I love coming to the shop and seeing the new yarns and models that have popped up since my last visit. This time I noticed the cozy Autumno top-down cardigan Nancy knit. I'm also crazy about the Koolhaas Hat Gerda knit out of Mission Falls. Oh! And waiting on the guest bed when I arrived was an adorable pumpkin hat my mom made for the little one on the way (I think soon we'll come up with a nickname). It's another adorable design from Itty Bitty Hats. Photos will follow once I get back to my computer at home.
On the pregnancy front, I had a memorable pregnancy food moment last night. I had been eating really bland food since my stomach was funny, and I was having trouble choking down any more. But last night after we went to a movie (Michael Clayton), I had a flash. "Do you think Gordy's is still open? Dumplings are the answer!" Sure enough, Gordy's was still open, though just about to close. We placed an order and picked them up on the way to the house. And I tell you, I gobbled up all those delicious dumplings and felt a thousand times better. I would eat another order for dinner tonight, but I'm leaving for home before dinnertime. Alas. My other new thing is that I'm entering the maternity pants zone. And elastic waistbands are making me feel like a completely new woman.
