Lots of Little Tasks

Thanksgiving is over, and suddenly Christmas is in the air. We're holding off on the tree for a while, but I couldn't resist getting out the Christmas music already. Mom and Dad will be arriving on Thursday for Dad's annual trip to watch all the high school state football championships (a tradition of maybe over 23 years now--can that be right?). The treat this year is that Lewis and Clark will be playing in the final game Saturday night. Andrew and I (both alumni of L.C.) went to the semi-final game in the Tacoma Dome on Saturday and had a great time, despite the nail-biting and heart-pounding fourth quarter. Dad's bringing his tools to help with some fixing up around the house before the games begin on Friday, and I think Mom and I will goof off. It should be a lot of fun for all.

On the knitting front, I'm having a great time, as usual, knitting a little Wallaby for some friends. I'm hoping to finish one sleeve today and get going on the next so I can attach them tomorrow. Then maybe I'll get back to the sweater model that I should be working on that I had to rip out completely last week. The other picture is of the lovely ladies from the Back to School Vest class that finished up a week and a half ago (that's Mom on the left and Grandma and Jan on the right). Jan said she had been telling people that she was taking a class with three generations. I hadn't thought of it that way (and shame on me for that).
On the pregnancy front, the belly seems to be growing every day. I have fully accepted the maternity pants, and I'm much more comfortable for it. I can still wear some of my regular tops. But today I put on a thin wool sweater that was always a little big and was a bit surprised. Let's just say that the front, which used to hang down straight, is now stretched over the belly. And the belly is still not clearly a pregnant belly. It could just as easily pass for a beer belly, or an ice cream belly, or a cheese belly (and come to think of it, ice cream and cheese do have something to do with it). I'm probably better off in looser tops until it's clearer.
